Call for Speakers for the OPBA’s 65th Annual Conference

April 9, 2025

October 4th – 6th, 2023 – Niagara Falls, ON

The Ontario Public Buyers Association is pleased to announce the Call for Speakers for our 65th Annual Conference to be held October 4 – 6, 2023, at the Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls-Fallsview hotel in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

We know there are practices, innovations, and ideas from which we could all benefit and learn. That’s why we created this Call for Speakers. We are reaching far and wide to members and colleagues across the province inviting you to consider presenting at the 2023 conference.

As the non-profit association dedicated to advancing the public procurement sector, OPBA welcomes all speaker submissions that contribute to the building of knowledge and awareness of public procurement professionals. Be advised that session speaking opportunities are unpaid, voluntary opportunities which elevate your profile within the public procurement community.

CONFERENCE THEME: Excitement is building as this is the first conference where we will gather in person since 2019. We expect more than 210 attendees to participate in education sessions, information sharing, and networking. Sessions should reflect the conference theme, “Public Procurement Professionals: Reconnect, Reimagine, Reunite.” They should engage attendees in an environment that challenges, inspires and re-energizes.

ABOUT CONFERENCE SESSIONS: The conference will begin at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, October 4, with a keynote speaker followed by consecutive sessions. On Thursday, we will run concurrent sessions for experienced procurement professionals and those new to the profession. Consecutive sessions will run on Friday until noon. We strongly encourage all public procurement professionals to share their learnings and innovations and exchange ideas with colleagues and peers.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION: Proposals must be submitted electronically by midnight on March 3, 2023 to Reina Dingman, Special Projects Coordinator at communications@opba.ca.

NOTE: Presenters are responsible for their own accommodations, transportation, and conference registration (if applicable). Transportation honorariums of up to $70 will be paid for those whose employers do not provide mileage reimbursement.
