The Construction & Design Alliance of Ontario (CDAO) is developing a Best Practices Guide for the procurement of design and construction services for public infrastructure. This guide aims to help public sector buyers assess their current procurement approaches against recommended best practices, serving as a valuable resource for project owners and design/construction service providers alike.
What’s in the Guide?
The Guide will cover:
- Key issues in infrastructure procurement that impact model selection and procurement steps
- A decision-making framework to help select the most appropriate procurement method
- Best practices for Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Construction Management at Risk, and Integrated Project Delivery (P3 models will be referenced at a high level)
How You Can Help
CDAO recognizes that public procurement professionals play a critical role in shaping effective procurement models. Your insights on current practices, challenges, and issues in procurement model selection are essential to ensuring this guide reflects real-world needs.
If you are a procurement professional in a municipality of any size, CDAO invites you to share your experiences. These discussions can take place one-on-one or in small groups and will require no more than an hour of your time. Meetings will be scheduled before the end of March.
