The Bundle Building program began in February 2024. It sought to engage children between the ages of seven and eleven years old to create their own sacred bundles. The program was offered over a six-week period once weekly at 4201 Kingston Road at Gabriel Dumont Non-Profit Housing. Each group began with a smudge and the children took turns bringing the smudge around the circle. For some, it was their first time offering the smudge. The children learned about the four sacred medicines, made their very own drums, rattles and leather medicine pouches. The Elder led the workshops and provided teachings on the sacred bundle items. As a closing, the twelve children and their families are invited to a sweat lodge ceremony. The children are encouraged to participate in birthing or waking their drums and rattles during this closing ceremony.
