TRANSITIONING TO A LOW CARBON ECONOMY

HRAI is bringing together a dynamic program for the April 23 symposium: Transitioning to a Low Carbon Economy. The continued movement toward a low-carbon economy presents both a significant opportunity and an enormous challenge for the HVACR industry, especially in provinces like Ontario and Alberta, where the national approach differs from provincial statements.

The symposium will feature presentations from:

David Miller, former Toronto Mayor and North American Director for C40 Cities climate Leadership Group

Alice Rosenberg, Senior Program Manager for Consortium for Energy Efficiency

Joyce Henry, Director General of the Office of Energy Efficiency at Natural Resources Canada.

The event will also include a panel discussion moderated by Corey Diamond, Executive Director of Efficiency Canada, featuring:

Steve MacDonald, President and CEO of Efficiency Nova Scotia

Terry Young, Vice President of Conservation at the IESO

Joyce Henry, Director General of the Office of Energy Efficiency at Natural Resources Canada.

The panelists will explore the fireworks expected as political support for energy efficiency and climate change mitigation continues to evolve at the provincial level, in some different directions than the Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change.

What will the role of energy efficiency be going forward in this shifting policy environment, and how can the HVACR industry best serve a confused marketplace?

Join HRAI for a spectacular networking opportunity for industry partners and a walk through of the state-of-the-art award-winning net - zero facility 'The Joyce Center of Partnership and Innovation Building at Mohawk College', awarded the 2018 Environmental Sustainability Award.
