HRAI Refrigeration Section Chair Dennis Kozina welcomes all members (Manufacturers, Wholesalers, Contractors and Associates) to register for an informative webinar about the regulatory issues impacting refrigerants in Canada and the U.S. on May 2, 2018 from 11:30 am – 12:15 pm.

The webinar includes the following:

  • A background review of international treaties and initiatives that support the transition from hydroclorofluorocarbon (HCFC) and hydrofluorocabon (HFC) refrigerants towards non-ozone depleting (ODP), low global warming potential (GWP) substances.
  • Review of the results to date of AHRI research on A2L and A3 refrigerants and the work required for acceptance of these low GWP refrigerants in related Standards and Codes. 
  • A review of the federal ODS and Halocarbon Alternatives regulations concerning control of HFCs and a review of the phase down schedule for HFCs and newly established global warming potential (GWP) limits for refrigerants used in specific types of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
