What sorts of ideas come to mind when you think of professional development for wholesale personnel?  How about HRAI professional development opportunities?

Did you know HRAI professional development opportunities for wholesaler members include business webinar series, hosted by specialists on business development, leadership and digital marketing subjects? Were you aware of other training and certification partnerships with Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) and the University of Innovative Distribution (UID). Caroline Czajko, Manager of Divisional Programs at HRAI says, “It’s more important than ever with digital e-commerce competitors emerging that wholesalers keep abreast of developments and sharpen their competitive skills.”

This week, Jonathan O’Hara, Partner, Co-Chair of International Trade Group, McMillan LLP and John Moccia, Director, Regulatory Affairs Canada, Livingston International Inc. will talk to members about how the U.S.-Canada tariffs battle will affect the HVACR and plumbing industry and wholesale customers in Canada.

On May 31, 2018, the U.S. imposed tariffs on imports of steel and aluminum products from Canada. In response, Canada implemented surtaxes against C$16.6 billion in imports of steel, aluminum, and other products from the U.S. The countermeasures became effective on July 1, 2018. Register here. If you have missed this session, contact HRAI for a copy of the webinar.

Future webinars include Gail Alofsin’s Leadership presentation on September 19, 2018 and Don Buttery’s “Six Regimens that are Vital for Sales Professionals” on October 3, 2018. Watch the HRAI website or this newsletter for information on our fall lineup.

HRAI has worked with the University of Innovative Distribution (UID) for a few years on this three-day event, which has received rave reviews from HRAI wholesale members who have attended. A partnership with Purdue University, this event attracts distributors from across North America who gather and share best practices and build their skills toward a Certificate in Innovative Distribution from Purdue. The 2019 program will take place from March 10 - 13 at the JW Marriott Indianapolis in Indianapolis. To learn more or register please visit this link.
