HRAI members are invited to participate in the “Sustainable Technologies for Stationary Air Conditioning Workshop”that will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Centre on February 1, 2017 in conjunction with the 2017 AHR Expo and the ASHRAE Winter Meetings. This workshop builds on a series of workshops addressing different fields of applications using HFCs and ozone-depleting substances.

The workshop is sponsored by the Climate and Clean Air Coalition to Reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants, the Governments of Canada, Germany and the US and the Alliance for Responsible Atmospheric Policy.

The workshop aims to familiarize participants with climate-friendly and cost-effective air conditioning technologies which have proven their applicability and show that phasing down high-GWP HFCs is manageable. All relevant stationary air conditioning applications will be addressed by international experts in panel discussions.

Issues that will be addressed include safety, high ambient temperature (HAT) operation performance, intellectual property rights (IPR), energy efficiency and challenges faced by developing countries. In addition, issues related to policies and standards associated with introducing and using alternative refrigerants and technologies in both developing and developed countries will be discussed.

The workshop is free; however there will be a pre-registration process. The conference will be conducted in English. Interpretation is not available.
