Natural Resources Canada’s proposed Amendment 14 to its Energy Efficiency Regulations has now been pre-published in the Canada Gazette, Part I for a 75-day comment period, which will end on June 14, 2018. In addition, NRCan has also updated its Forward Regulatory Plan for 2018-2020 which is available on NRCan’s website.

HVAC products that are covered in pre-published Amendment 14 include the following:

-          Walk-in Coolers and Walk-in Freezers

-          Commercial Refrigerators, Refrigerator-Freezers and Freezers

-          Residential Gas-Fired Furnaces (Furnace Fans)

-          Large Air-Conditioners and Heat Pumps

-          Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps

-          Residential Oil-Fired Furnaces

-          Chillers

-          Gas-Fired Residential Storage Water Heaters and Oil-Fired Residential Storage Water Heaters

-          Large Condensing Units
