Members of the International Council of Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating Manufacturers Associations (ICARHMA) met October 15 in Seoul, South Korea, for its Annual Meeting hosted by the Korean Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association (KRAIA). HRAI was represented by President Warren Heeley.

ICARHMA members discussed the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, industry research initiatives, along with other issues in their respective country. Dr. Min Soo Kim from Seoul National University joined a portion of the meeting as a guest and reviewed Korea’s policies for compliance with the Kigali Amendment, which is designed to bring about an orderly, global phase down of the use of HFC refrigerants.

ICARHMA’s member associations represent manufacturers that produce 90 percent of the world’s heating, cooling, and water heating equipment. The 2018 ICARHMA annual meeting will be hosted in Japan by the Japan Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association. For more information contact Warren Heeley at warren.heeley@hrai.ca.
