This year’s speaker lineup will help members prepare for daily business and personal pressures, a digital marketing future and the newest HVAC and refrigeration technological breakthroughs.

Our opening keynote session will be provided by TV commentator Huw Williams, President of Impact Public Affairs. He will brief participants on the Canadian political landscape, from an HVAC professional perspective, as we move into Election 2019. Williams appears regularly on CBC and CTV national news, was Acting Chief of Staff to the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada, a Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of Constitutional Affairs, and a Legislative Assistant to the Speaker of the Alberta Legislative Assembly. In 2010 he was named worldwide Public Affairs Professional of the Year finalist by PRNews Magazine.

Attendees will also benefit from a powerful session from Shelley Middlebrook, President of Fifth Story, a Canadian PR agency with a long successful history.  How do you capture an on-the-go (mobile), busy customer and keep their attention? Middlebrook will explore ways to narrow down and target customers, and engage, educate, and provide relevant content to their buying–decision making process. This session is geared towards the sales & marketing departments of Manufacturers and Wholesalers.  Fifth Story has worked with a long list of clients on B2B and B2C marcom, data and customer insights in the home building, décor, and energy industry sectors.

On Monday afternoon of the conference, Mark Jewell will present what is becoming awealth of empirical evidence that connects the dots between intelligently specified building systems and highly desirable business outcomes. Properly presented, that evidence can reveal the perils of specifying “lowest first cost,” debunk “split incentives” between developers, landlords, and tenants, communicate key benefits that extend beyond lower utility bills, and more. Reframing your pitch helps get new projects approved and revitalizes previously ignored or rejected ones. Jewell will help you increase revenue.

One of our technical presentations will be delivered by Max Rohr from Rehau. He will take participants through the integration of hydronics with indoor environmental quality. The session will focus on the impact of hydronic heating/cooling and forced-air hybrid systems on IEQ, and the future of internet-of-things auto control systems that can help orchestrate and manage healthy indoor environments. Rohr is a self-described hydronics and thermostat nerd.  He has worked in the hydronics and solar industry for 20 years in the installation, sales and manufacturing sectors.
