HRAI staff and Career Committee volunteers will participate in three interesting events in the upcoming weeks: Student Life Expo, Career Pathways Expo and Supporting Women in the Trades Conference.

The Student Life Expo is Canada’s largest post-secondary education and lifestyle event, geared towards helping high school graduates learn about career choices ahead. It is being held at the Metro Toronto Convention Center on October 27-28, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.

The Career Pathways Expo is aimed at secondary students and provides an overview on the assortment of job paths in the York Region. The event showcases local businesses, highlights available careers and features a job fair. This expo will be held on October 30, 2018 at the Newmarket Community Center at 200 Doug Duncan Drive, Newmarket. Students can attend between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and it is open to the public from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

The Supporting Women in the Trades Conference is an event targeted towards helping Canadians address the challenges faced by women working in the skilled trades. It is open to women in trades, employers, labour organizations, government, educators and all advocates of diversity and inclusion. The conference is being held on November 6 and 7 at the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
