HRAI is inviting members to participate in a “grass-roots” campaign to educate federal politicians of all parties during the upcoming election about the importance of the HVACR industry and HRAI to Canadians.  With the race heating up, and with new election rules, it’s more important than ever that national interest groups and small businesses engage their local candidates.

The goal of this initiative will be to make initial connections with prospective federal representatives at a time when they are particularly attuned to the needs of constituents.  Well-informed candidates will make more responsive representatives when elected.

HRAI members who are interested in participating in this program will be connected to local candidates to discuss issues of importance to the industry (e.g. support for trades, regulatory harmonization, and supportive energy policies).  We will be encouraging all parties to take action on household and commercial improvements in energy-efficient heating and cooling technologies and have engaged national campaign teams in Ottawa to deliver that message.

Relying on the services of Impact Public Affairs (IPA), members will be provided with an information “tool kit” to help guide the process (including key talking points and tactics) and will be encouraged to provide facility tours where appropriate.  Our grassroots campaign kit will make it as easy as possible for you to contact your local candidates and communicate with confidence about issues facing the HVACR sector. With your help, we can find new champions in the next Parliament that will help make the regulatory environment easier for businesses from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

If you are interested in participating in this political engagement program, please contact Martin Luymes at 1-800-267-2231, ext. 235 or email mluymes@hrai.ca.
