Over the last several months, many groups agreed to organize a campaign for Canada’s Construction Sector. The partners include the Canadian Construction Association (CCA), Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Canada (ACEC), the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP), Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) and the National Trade Contractors Council of Canada (NTCCC), of which HRAI is a supporting member.

The industry has made a case for a variety in the types of projects funded and geographic distribution of projects.  There is existing funding for these projects that has not yet been deployed and additional funding is expected to be announced next spring.  The construction industry is asking the federal and provincial governments to work together to resolve any existing bottlenecks and get projects started, as this will help not only the Construction Industry but the Canadian Economy as a whole.

The campaign is encouraging Canadians to visit the Build for Recovery website (www.buildforrecovery.ca) which has a streamlined web form process to contact federal and provincial government officials about prioritizing infrastructure investment.
