ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer Greg Scrivener will help you work safely with new flammable refrigerants at HRAI’s 50th Anniversary Annual Meeting and Conference at the Paradisus Playa del Carmen, in Mexico, in October.

Scrivener will deliver a code and standard update on ASHRAE and CSA B52 activities related to A2L flammable refrigerants, including safety concerns and best practices with mechanical joints, cylinder storage, and recovery, and their application in direct human comfort systems and machine rooms. He will also brief members about ongoing AHRI/DOE/ASHRAE research on flammable refrigerants, and will provide an overview on the use of A3 refrigerants in North America.

Scrivener is vice-chair of ASHRAE’s Committee 15: Safety Standard for Refrigeration Systems, and is also an associate member of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) B52 – Mechanical Refrigeration Code committee. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and is principal engineer and founder of Cold Dynamics Ltd. in Saskatchewan.
