Energy Efficiency Alberta is expanding their ongoing rebate program to include furnaces equipped with electronically commutated motors (ECM).

Energy Efficiency Alberta is committed to working with contractors to create a trade ally network with strong, two-way communication. The decision to add furnaces with ECMs to the program was due to feedback from residential HVAC contractors.

The rebate program is being run on the same model as the pre-existing rebate on tankless water heaters. Any qualified model purchased after January 15, 2018 qualifies for a $75 rebate. The list of qualified models was compiled by HRAI based on data from manufacturers.

Contractors can apply for the rebate on behalf of their customers and the rebate is sent directly to the customer. The online application form is available after February 1st on Energy Efficiency Alberta’s website. Applicants will also need to show proof of purchase.
