HAC has received a number of calls from operators concerned about the potential for passenger temperature screening in Canada. A recent announcement by the Minister has fueled speculation that temperature screening may be required for passengers on helicopters departing from Canadian airports. In response to concerns raised by HAC, Transport Canada has clarified that temperature screening will only be conducted at CATSA screening points. A number of scheduled Canadian fixed-wing operators have also elected voluntarily to implement screening at the gate.
