Top Ten Reasons Why You Should be Attending HAC’s Conference Next Week

We are less than a week away from HAC’s 2019 YVR Conference, and you can still walk-in-register. Here are some of the reasons that you should be in attendance:

  1. Chuck Aaron, of the 007 films, Spectre  will be speaking on the subject of Risk Management - Who knew you had to manage risk while looping a helicopter?;

  2. Kathy Fox will be discussing the TSB Study of Air Taxi Accidents – including a separate 10-year analysis of helicopter accidents in Canada and an in-depth look at recently-released helicopter accident/incident reports;

  3. Learn about the latest development in Cannabis, as they relate to the helicopter community – most notably, to determine whether you have adequately reduced your exposure through the application of company policy;

  4. It’s not too late to provide that long-promised training to your crews – we still have space in our Wires, and Corrective Action Plan courses. Whether you fly for HYDRO or not – wires training will enhance the safety of your flight operations;

  5. Have your Maintenance Staff attend the ever-popular Tech Briefings by Bell and Airbus on November 14;

  6. Attend our Committee Meetings on November 14 – new Dangerous Goods Standards coming; HR will discussing Cannabis use; Oil & Gas will be discussing the O&G industry outlook – too much to mention, here;

  7. Six Board Positions up for election – Two Associates and Four Operator-positions – Nominate and vote to elect your candidate;

  8. See all your vendors in one location – More events on the floor than ever before!

  9. Attend the TSB’s Watchlist Townhall – provide your feedback directly to TSB Board Members on SMS and Fatigue Management!

  10. Hear Betsy Kane of Capelle Kane Immigration lawyers speak to us on tools you can use to mitigate our HR crisis.
