A number of HAC members have contacted the association about issues with respect to Fatigue Management limits for the operators of road vehicles operating in support of helicopter operations. Some have received substantial fines.  Particularly vulnerable are operators whose vehicles are operating in support of firefighting operations, and operating across multiple provinces. Operators have expressed concern over a number of the elements of the Federal requirements and have approached HAC about the potential for an exemption application for firefighting and other essential aircraft operation-related services. Operators who have experienced problems, are invited to contact fred.jones@h-a-c.ca in order for the association to gauge the seriousness of the problem and the nature of the relief that is required.
