Late last week, Transport Canada added a requirement for facemasks for passengers in commercial operations including CAR 703, to the Interim Order to Prevent Certain Persons from Boarding Flights in Canada due to COVID-19

The applicability of the revised Interim Order includes CAR 703, 704, and CAR 705 operations – it does not include CAR 702. A number of operator-members have contacted HAC to ask if the revised Interim Order should apply to CAR 702 - particularly to Firefighting operations since the occupants of the aircraft (including flight crew) are rarely more than two meters from one another. HAC has raised this issue with Transport Canada. Is there any reason that flight crews should not wear face masks?  Provide your feedback to fred.jones@h-a-c.ca.
