Roof underlayment keeps moisture out and damage from occurring

No matter how structurally sound your building’s roof, over time, leaks and water damage are always in the realm of possibility. In the winter months, snow can sneak into cracks undetected, then expand and contract causing near-imperceptible damage, while spring’s downpours can send the wind-driven rain in multiple directions at once. That’s where worthy products like roof underlayment come in. Installed between the roofing material and the roof deck, these additional barriers help prevent water from infiltrating into the structure itself.

From leading manufacturer SOPREMA, comes LASTOBOND STICK VP, a roof underlayment vapour-permeable rain-barrier membrane composed of a trilaminar polypropylene complex surface. Installed under a sloped metal roof, it will allow moisture that could seep into the insulated roof system to be evacuated before causing any material damage to the structure.

The benefits of this underlayment go beyond the moisture protection it offers. It is also easy to install, long lasting and resistant to high temperatures. Surface preparation is as straightforward as it gets: surfaces must be clean, dry and free of any debris or dust. The membrane is unrolled horizontally along the surface and adhered using a roller to ensure a smooth, wrinkle-free application.
